For far too long, mental health has been held in the shadows and has been a subject that people are unwilling to talk about. This is particularly prevalent in men who don’t want to appear weak or emotional. This needs to stop as more and more people are being affected by mental health issues. It is currently estimated that 1 in 4 people will be affected at some point in their lives and that the ratio is increasing. As someone you know will be affected, why does no one talk about it?
“That’s the thing about depression: A human being can survive almost anything,
as long as she sees the end in sight. But depression is so insidious,
and it compounds daily, that it’s impossible to ever see the end.”

The aim of the Dan Rhodes Foundation is to bring mental health out of the darkness by shining a light on it and raising awareness. As mental illness is hidden it takes people talking about it to bring it out into the open. We also want to promote mental health through physical health and how having a healthy approach can help your mental health.
